I have been a practicing psychiatrist for more than 30 years.
I was born and raised in Austria - the home of Mozart and Freud. I lost my father at age 11, and was sent to live in a monastery in Vienna. After finishing high school, I immigrated to the United States at 17, a friend of my mother helped make this possible. I attended Trinity College and graduated in theoretical physics. From there my path took me to a doctorate in biophysics from Stanford University at 25. I worked for several years as a computer scientist and underwent a Jungian psychoanalysis, which influenced me to change course to a deeper calling. An inner experience of soul entered my consciousness and at age 30 I embarked to medical school at University of California San Francisco with intention to become a psychiatrist. Several personal meetings with J. Krishnamurti confirmed for me the rightness of this path. After graduating, I served a four year residency in psychiatry.
My brother remains in Austria. Although I suffered from my father's death early in life, I was deeply blessed through many gifted teachers along the way. Like a miracle, or as if through deeper guidance some wonderful person appeared, willing to help me at key moments in my life. Through Grace unfolding, I gradually came to know generosity of spirit and a grateful heart.
Over 16 years I served as attending psychiatrist treating thousands of people in need of the most intensive psychiatric care -- hospitalization. Subsequently, I worked as psychiatrist for a large Medical Group and over several years developed, together with a friend and colleague, Mindfulness meditation as an effective treatment and entry to a deeper healing. For the past ten years I have been blessed to serve an appreciative population at a Health Clinic serving people from all parts of the world.
I was blessed with a son and daughter, both are now young adults and finding their way in the world. For many years I searched for my soul-mate, and ten years ago found her in a wonderful English woman, a deep soul named Chastia. We share a spiritual partnership, a special relationship among equals for the purpose of helping each other spiritually grow and awaken the soul.
