Souldoctor

Human history spans many millennia, while modern psychiatry is barely one hundred years young. The word 'psychiatrist' derives from psyche and iatrist, meaning healer of the psyche. In the classic European tradition of psychiatry not only psyche was attended to but also the soul. So, for pioneers of psychiatry like Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and Viktor Frankl, the human soul was not circumscribed to pastoral care but considered in need of physician healing. The 'Seelenarzt' or souldoctor was called to a deeper healing of human sorrow. Somewhere in my journey as physician I heard that calling. And, the heart accepted.

On this site, perhaps allow me to serve as guide to speak to the soul that is you. You yearn for, yet already know, a deeper love that lives in you, where you have nothing to fear and can do no wrong. Perhaps join me in the practice of Gratefulness in the Now. I have been blessed in receiving guidance from many teachers, one who helped me find gratefulness is the Austrian Benedictine monk David Steindl-Rast. I practice his 'Staunen und Dankbarkeit' and may these videos show you a better way to be in this world.
